| The author considers the paradigm of the notions «sign», «referent» «denotation» and «concept» which are the
main elements of reference. Reference is a process of correlating language signs with extra-language reality. The
above-mentioned notions are closely related with each other and interact in both speech and mind. Meanwhile, there
are different interpretations of these notions in academic writing. Here we mean to make an attempt to resolve this
ambiguity. |
