| The results of Philaenus spumarius polymorphism studies in the Far East are presented. 11 pure morphs and a
single mixed morph have been singled out. The greatest diversity of morphs has been found on Kurile Islands. The
spittlebug polymorphous structure in the Far East is quite close to that of Giadia areas of the Palaearctic. The number
of morphs increases from the north to the south and decreases from the west to the east. Eight types of areas for
spittlebug morphs have been identified in the Palaearctic. |
