The problem of population arrangement and structure of social insects is among the least developed ones. The
significance of such a study is also determined by the fact that red wood ants are promising agents of biological
wood protection. The work is devoted to the analysis of Formica aquilonia population structure under different forest
growth conditions. The most optimal biotopes for this species have been revealed and an estimate of the red wood
ant complex state has been given. |
