The decay of many-electron states in quantum dots connected by leads to an Ohmic reservoir is investigated. The
dynamics of a quantum state in the lead and the quantum dot as dependent on electron occupation numbers is studied
analytically and numerically. It is shown that the interference between the neighboring resonances and the oscillations
of the electron density in the lead occur during the decay of many-electron states. A procedure to monitor the decaying
state dynamics using scanning tunneling microscopy is proposed. |
