Abstract
The influence has been studied of the plastic deformation value of 08ps steel samples with different thicknesses of the protective coating on the steel acoustic characteristics using electromagnetic-acoustic (EMA) transducer. The use of EMA transducer allows the plastic deformation value of the metal under the coating to be estimated. The investigation of stress-corrosion damage of 09G2S steel revealed the possibility to estimate the density of stress-corrosion cracks on the metal surface under the coating by a non-contact method.
