| The article considers some peculiarities in the structure of the hagiographic canon at the beginning of the 20th
century in stylized legends, created within the framework of an ideological system, or the creative philosophy of the
author. The novel ?Herr Arnes Hoard? by Selma Lagerlцf and the film adaptation by Mauritz Stiller are explored
