Tetraphenylantimony acrylate Ph4SbO2CCH=CH2 has been obtained by the reaction of pentaphenylantimony
with acrylic acid in toluene solution at room temperature, which has been confirmed by the data of elementary analysis,
molecular weight, IR and 1Н NMR spectroscopy. According to X-ray structural analysis data, the substance is a
trigonal-bipyramidal complex of the antimony atom with three phenyl groups at the base and acrylic and phenyl
ligands at the apices of the bipyramid. Transparent and soluble in chloroform polymer blocks have been obtained by
copolymerization of tetraphenylantimony acrylate and MMA.
