Abstract
The input signal of the neural-like noisy system under investigation is the sum of two sine waves with different frequencies. The degree of nonlinear signal distortion has been shown to depend only on the ratio of input oscillation frequencies, noise and system parameters being constant. The theoretical explanation of the phenomenon and its interpretation in the context of music perception are presented.
