Abstract
Lysophosphatidylcholine (LPC) in concentrations 2 · 10-9 M - 2 · 10-4 M reliably and reversibly reduces the am-plitude of electrically stimulated contractions in myocardium of rat heart right ventricle and reduces the ability of cardiomyocytes to relaxation. These changes are explained by excessive accumulation of Са2 + ions inside cardio-myocytes that reduces the sarcomere length and thus reduces the force of heart contraction.
