The author introduces the concept of functional-semantic field and identifies 11 major functional-semantic fields in the texts of a school essay: description, event, comparison, point of view, source of information, purpose, reason, belief, assumption, emphasis and conclusion. A more detailed description is given of the functional-semantic field of comparison and of the means for its expression. |
