The article analyses the relations between the Thessalian polis Larissa and the Macedonian king at the end of the third century B.C. By commenting on two letters of the king and the decree issued by the city, and also by comparing this epigraphical material with literary sources, the author concludes that the dependence of Thessalian cities on Macedonia was preserved in different forms, but the international situation at that time and the treaty of Hellenic league of 224 B.C. limited the king's power over Thessalian cities.
