We consider the Desyatnya of 1622, a unique source (from the point of view of completeness of the content) on the history of the Nizhni Novgorod military service corporation. It provides the data on the composition of the corporation, depending on the category (elected, court, or townspeople), the places where they received monetary remuneration and its amount. The authors have studied their financial state, the size of their landed salary, number of peasants in their estates, and their armament. It is shown that this source can be used to study the genealogy of the nobility.
