| The article addresses the issue of ethno-cultural stereotypes of the Irishman in English consciousness. An attempt is
made to analyze the process of formation of national stereotypes of the population of Northern Ireland on the material
of semi-folklore ethno-political jokes and anecdotes. The paper also focuses on the changes of these stereotypes due to
economic and socio-political events which have taken place in the world in the last decades. |
