The article deals with the situation of the Orthodox community in contemporary Syria and Lebanon (Greek Orthodox
Church of Antioch). The Orthodox Christians of Syria and Lebanon, who claim to be the most ancient Christian
community in the region, are now a minority practically everywhere they live, and today they have to face a number of
problems related to their economic and political situation and to constructing their own identity. |
