Abstract
The application of deterministic models in signal multipath propagation simulation is restrained by high simulation complexity. Some ways to reduce the costs of radio signal simulation on the basis of a faceted terrain model have been determined. Experimental data have been obtained on the radio signal simulation error as a function of the far-field criterion approximation and the significant terrain patch size. The values of parameters providing the least simulation costs for a relative simulation error of 5% have been found.
