| Based on the analysis of the main modal meanings in the utterances with imperfective and perfective present forms in modern Russian, the author makes the conclusion that in standard model contexts the base (agentive) mo-dality is linked with imperfective aspect and epistemic (locutive) modality is linked with perfective aspect. |
