The problem of teaching grammar to the learners of German as a second foreign language is considered. The
emphasis is on a conscious mastering of grammatical patterns at the first stage of learning by making use of rules
and comparisons with the equivalent and nonequivalent patterns in the system of English as the first foreign language.
This approach helps to form in the students a stable conception of the grammatical structure with its own
distinctive features in the German language which provides a sound foundation for the proper usage of grammatical
patterns in spontaneous communication. |
