Some artistic peculiarities of Maxim Gorky's autobiographical story "Childhood" and the ways they are reflected in the translation into English are analyzed. The world of Russian provincial life seen through the child's eyes impresses the reader by its beauty and realism. The concept of opposite worlds is also typical of other works by this well-known Russian writer. Translations let his voice sound in the dialogue of cultures. |
