A new universal model is presented which allows multimedia devices to interoperate seamlessly with each other in
the global Internet. The main idea is that multimedia devices all over the world can be joined together by the Internet in
so-called virtual communities. All the participants can transparently search for each other using a variety of search criteria,
establish dynamic cooperation sessions, control each other and monitor each other's internal state. To build virtual
communities and provide the interaction of their members, a mathematical model of a random metrized graph with
small world properties is used.
