We analyze the monochromatic near field of a circular plane aperture with various distributions tapered towards
the edge of the field. For the first time, we have developed and applied for this case a method for calculating the
pulsed field of a flat circular aperture antenna, which allows analytic expressions in terms of inverse trigonometric
functions for the near field to be obtained. The behavior of the monochromatic near field of a circular plane aperture
with distributions tapered towards the edge of the field is explained in terms of impulse responses of the aperture.
We also compare the obtained results with those already known for the case of a uniform aperture field distribution.
