In the article an effort of reconstruction of russian medieval devoutness is made by an example of annalistic evidences of the Battle of the Kalka River. The author gives a new interpretation and representation of motives, moved chronographers to writing this narrative. Semantics and simbolics of annalistic narratives is annalysed there. Special attention is given to consideration of the influence of miphological consciousness of medieval sofer on the annalistic source which is being created by him.
