The paper considers cultural and literary links of F.M. Dostoevsky's novel Crime and Punishment and W. Shakespeare's tragedy Hamlet. The analysis of the works shows a direct philosophical and spiritual connection between their major characters. Distinguishing a deep crisis of European civilization reflected in Shakespeare's works, Dostoevsky seeks the ways of overcoming it in his novel. |
