Abstract
The phenomenological Verhulst equation with fluctuations of the saturation parameter is considered. For a perturbation in the form of white non-Gaussian noise with the stable Levy-Smirnov probability distribution, we have observed the evolution of the probability characteristics of the population size with the transient bimodality. An exact expression is obtained for the steady-state probability density function, as well as the mean value and the variance of the process under study.
