A MIMO (multi input multi output) communication system with space-time block coding is considered. The problem of maximum likelihood decoding is solved in the presence of spatially correlated noise field with an unknown covariance matrix. A decoding algorithm based on semi-definite programming is generalized to the case of spatially correlated noise. An iterative quasi-optimal algorithm for the case of unknown noise spatial correlation is proposed. The effectiveness of the proposed technique is confirmed by mathematical simulation results.
