At present, research efforts in broadband wireless networks are mainly focused on the system level analysis. A new method of this analysis of radio networks is presented, along with the architecture of the software simulator providing investigations of communication systems based on IEEE 802.16m and 3GPP LTE-Advanced standards. The software platform has been used by the Russian Evaluation Group, established by the N.I. Lobachevsky State University of Nizhni Novgorod, for participation in ITU-R IMT-Advanced evaluation process.
