A comparative analysis is carried out of parameter-setting processes of helical electron beams with different to-pologies formed by magnetron injection guns with a nonequipotential cathode. The regimes with coefficients from 3% to 40% of electron reflection from the magnetic mirror have been investigated. For beams with regularly inter-secting trajectories, it is shown that an increase of the negative electrode retarding potential can effectively suppress space charge oscillations even if the retarding potential is only about 2% of the full accelerating voltage.
