Abstract
An analysis is carried out of parameter-setting processes of gyrotron helical electron beams for different magnetic field profiles in the magnetic mirror region. The regimes with coefficients from 3% to 40% of electron reflection from the magnetic mirror have been investigated. The magnetic field correction in the magnetic mirror region leads to the growth of the magnetic field gradient and the reduction of the magnetic mirror length. For beams with regularly intersecting trajectories, this correction has been shown to increase the beam stability as well as the value of the maximum achievable pitch factor and to decrease the space-charge oscillation amplitude and the potential in the beam.
