Seasonal dynamics of heavy metal (Fe, Zn, Cu, Ni, Cr) content has been shown in water and bottom sediments of the Ulyanovsk region small rivers. The heavy metal content in higher aquatic vegetation (Elodea canadensis) and mussels (the genus Unio) has been analyzed. The investigated heavy metals have been found to have characteristic seasonal allocation patterns in aquatic ecosystem components. The influence of some factors (temperature, рН, carbon hardness) on the processes of heavy metal allocation and accumulation in water, bottom sediments and biota has been revealed by correlation analysis.
