Chronic glomerulonephritis is a serious medical problem due to its severity and wide prevalence. At the same time, there has been an increased rate of the disease-related complications, in particular, anemia. There remains an ambiguity regarding the causes for a decrease in hemoglobin levels in patients with hypochromic anemia. The identification of the pathogenic variant of anemia makes it possible to find the basic mechanism of its development in an individual patient and to choose the adequate methods for its correction.
