| The article examines the history of study of the Polybius' remark concerning the kingdom of Gatalos. In his opinion, it was situated in Europe. Investigation of Polybius' geographical views demonstrates that he took the river Kuban for the boundary between Europe and Asia. Consequently, the kingdom of Gatalos had to be located near the Kuban river. This localization is confirmed by the archeological data. |
