The article is devoted to the contrastive analysis of terminological systems of geographical disciplines of Arabic and English. The research is mainly carried out on the material of monolingual and bilingual dictionaries. Major attention is paid to the present status of terms, but the research contains elements of the diachronic approach as well, because the author analyzes etimological nuances of the formation of the two terminology systems. We took into consideration both linguistical and extralinguistical factors influencing similarities and differences between Arabic and English terms. |
