| On the example of the opera «The Coronation of Poppea» (1642), key principles of C. Monteverdi's creative activity in the musical theater are identified. Monteverdi's last work is considered here as the opera, which laid the ground for the achievements of opera composers of later centuries. The author argues in favor of the fundamental role of the Venetian master in the development of belcanto culture. |
