Abstract
We consider the vision by Vsevolod Solovyov (1849-1903) of the famous figure of the Ukrainian culture of the late Renaissance, Prince Konstantin Ostrogski. A comparative assessment is made of the Prince's personality and activities as described by professional historians and theologians, with the reception of Prince Konstantin in the novel "The Princess Ostrogska" by Vsevolod Solovyov. It is noted that the author's perception of Prince Konstantin is close to the hagiographic tradition.
