| It is argued that the opposition «capital/province» is not manifested in the structure of Chekhov's literary works. The author removes a fundamental contradiction that is characteristic of many texts of the Russian literature. It is the contradiction between the province and the capital, between life and existence. The «edges» of the opposition are synthesized in the author's mind into the existential space of life. Author's assessment of any topos is determined by the system of value relations that exist in this space. |
