Abstract
A procedure to plot axial stress vs axial strain curves using the direct impact method has been developed for a multiple strain wave reflection in the measuring rod. The solution of the problem of restoration of the stress and displacement of the impacted end of the measuring rod is based on the method of characteristics. The procedure has been tested by lead compression measurements.
