| In this paper, we analyze the opinions regarding the founding date of Gorodets. Principal versions of Russian
historians are considered. It is shown that the most important arguments of the supporters and opponents of the version
about the founding of Gorodets in the epoch of Yuri Dolgoruky are linked with the understanding of the nature of Russian-
Bulgar relations in the 12th century. |
