We consider in detail such features of the types of market structures for residential real estate market as the
number of buyers and sellers, the degree of product differentiation, entry and exit barriers, price elasticity of supply
and demand, peculiarities of competition, and the origin of profits. It is concluded that the residential real estate
market of the Nizhni Novgorod region is predominantly of the monopolistic competition type, while some of its
individual segments are approaching the type of oligopoly and perfect competition.
