Given the complexity of the modern European governance involving a wide range of public and private actors and
the difficulties arising with the EUs democratic deficit, the European Union has chosen to draw more attention to the
policy networks. The prospects of this research field are obviously promising, due to its novelty and unconventional
analytical framework. This article focuses upon the existing concepts of policy networks, the possibilities of their implementation
in the field of European studies, as well as the advantages and drawbacks of policy networking in the EU.
