Abstract
The paper considers the debatable problem: whether it is possible to combine commercialization and social jour- nalism in the development of the press. The author gives his interpretation of the concepts «commercialization» and «social journalism», reveals some problems of modern Russian-speaking printed mass media of Estonia and offers some scenarios for the development of these mass media.
