A possibility is shown to obtain photochromic materials on the basis of the system 12-phosphomolybdic acid (PMo12) - poly-N-vinylpyrrolidone (PVP) using the method of layer-by-layer assembling of the polymer and polyoxometalate (POM). A photochromic mechanism is suggested to be based on the photoinduced intramolecular electron transfer of two electrons from PVP to PMo12 resulting in the formation of an intensely colored doubly charged POM anion. |
