A model has been developed for the temperature-strain rate sensitivity of fracture toughness of metallic materials. The model is based on the classical fracture mechanics approach combined with the physical model of the plastic deformation process at low temperatures used in the construction of Ashby deformation-mechanism maps. An expression has been obtained to describe the temperature and loading rate dependence of. |
