The article describes the way Russian modern culture perceives the British cultural code. The research is carried out on the material of Harry Potter series and a specific sort of literature created by numerous fans of the books (the so – called fanfiction). Fanfiction lets the researcher monitor the feedback of the books in readers’ creative work. Three levels of Rowling’s texts are supposed to be perceived by readers: fairytale and myth, Englishness, modern Britain’s realia. |
