The paper concerns the confrontational analysis of Russian prepositional-case constructions with the preposition от and the search for their main grammatical equivalents in the Persian language. The author shows that various Persian constructions correspond to this type of construction in the Russian language, specifically, in some cases an appropriate correlate to the preposition от – the Persian preposition az is used, sometimes the appropriate correlate does not exist, and the meaning is expressed by means of an idafa word combination.
