| This paper considers nominations of gastronomic discourse (pragmatonyms), in particular nominations of foodstuffs, and their relationship with motivating units. The pragmatonyms being studied contribute to the formation of the modern man?s cognitive model of the world and, through their active functioning in a multi-ethnic city, extend the language consciousness of townspeople. |
