The article considers the implementation of the competence model in the German educational system. The author examines German experience, which is of particular interest, as this country previously faced problems similar to those that the Russian educational system is facing now. On the basis of literature analysis and the conducted research, which includes interviews with German students, the author draws conclusions regarding the success of Germany in the implementation of the competence model.
