Comparison of similarity is considered as a tool for creating an imaginative and emotionally rich description of events and characters in German fiction. Its active role in this process, including the tendency to text metaphorization, is demonstrated. This is clearly manifested, in particular, in its structural syntactical “surrogation” in certain speech acts and in using compounding and derivational models of adjectives whose function is reorganized into qualitative or qualitative–evaluative characteristics of an object in the process of local semantic neutralization of comparative relations. |
