The theme of vampirism has existed in the world literature for a long time. However, Bram Stoker was probably the first author to pay serious attention to this subject in his novel «Dracula» (1897). In the 20th century this theme was quite common both in literature and cinema, while the authors were constantly looking for new tools and images trying to avoid producing epigonic works. It resulted in blurring the iconic image of vampire, and sometimes the changes were so dramatic that the only thing that remained from the image was its name.
