| The article analyses the specifics of genre in the comedy «Travesties» in terms of the intellectual tradition of the English drama. It is shown how the comedy of ideas is implemented in the works of British playwrights Oscar Wilde, Bernard Shaw and Tom Stoppard. In the context of this approach, we determine the place of T. Stoppard's oeuvre in the history of English drama. |
