This article presents a review of the collective research work «Mikhail Sholokhov. «Quiet Flows the Don». A Dynamic Transcription of the Manuscript» published by the Gorky Institute of World Literature, Russian Academy of Sciences, in 2011 with the support of the Russian Foundation for the Humanities. The contribution of this outstanding work to the elucidation of the artistic history of Sholokhov's famous book is highly appreciated: it has introduced the readers and researchers to the autographs and authorized copies of the first two books of the novel.
