The article considers the image of the world as a universal church and the transformation of the theme of prayer in K.D.Balmont's poetry. The connection of his poetry with the Christian cosmism of Dostoevsky is emphasized. The most important symbolic images are analyzed revealing the mystery of world unity, «the global communion», music and light, «the liturgy of beauty», and the silence-glorification. The conclusion is made regarding the iconic experience of the invisible in the visible in Balmont's poetics of world unity.
